IMTIAZ A MAHTAB
Managing Director of KONE Middle East & Africa
Imtiaz A Mahtab is KONE Middle East & Africa’s Managing Director. Imtiaz is responsible for managing, developing and growing KONE’s business in the Middle East & Africa. Imtiaz joined KONE from SkyPower where he worked as Managing Director for Middle East & Africa and Commonwealth of Independent States in Asia Pacific. Prior to that, he has worked in various management positions in Europe, US, Asia Pacific, Middle East and China for over 20 years, where he has also been to countries in MEA like Saudi Arabia, Egypt and South Africa. Imtiaz brings in a vast experience from different industries in these regions, where most of his work has been in the energy transition sector and taking companies to a direction of carbon neutrality, as well as high technology sectors and the sustainable path.
Regional Service Director
In 2017, Georges Habib joined KONE as the Service Director for Middle East and Africa, covering both Sales and Operations.
Habib joined KONE after a long career in the industry, working for international competitors in the MEA region. Throughout his 20 years of experience, he was assigned several managerial roles in different departments; from installation operations, to service and new sales.
Habib is now leading our service culture of customer mindset, ensuring the best people flow experience there could be.
Georges holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He loves spending time with his family and dog, and enjoys outdoor sports activities.
Marketing and Strategy Director
Ghada Othman joined KONE in 2018 as the Marketing and Strategy Director for KONE Middle East, Africa and Turkey. The sophisticated business leader graduated with a degree in Sales and Marketing from the American University in Cairo.
Ghada spent the past 20 years partnering with CEOs, managing directors and senior leadership teams across 25 countries as a business growth strategist. She helped in designing, monitoring, steering and optimizing go-to-market strategies that increase market share, brand awareness and profitability for their organizations, thus dominantly positioning them in the global market.
During her time with Newell Brands Middle East, the market disruptor managed to expand the business model from export markets to developed markets. Ghada was also able to achieve record ROIs by country through continual monitoring of yearly budgets, investments and the development of distributor setups in each country. Moreover, during her three years with Carrefour, she paved the way to actualize Carrefour’s ambitious growth targets by single-handedly establishing the Carrefour private-label department in Egypt and mapping strategy growth plan.
Her ambition does not stop at her own career. For two years now, Ghada has been utilizing her business expertise in empowering, inspiring and developing the mindset and skillset of 1M businesswomen to lead and grow their organizations through her role as President of INSEAD Women in Business Club, UAE.
Ghada has the ability to transform organizations she works with. And today, the highly experienced and accomplished business development consultant is using her unique skillset to help KONE Middle East, Africa and Turkey deliver on its ambitious plans to lead the people flow market in the region for years to come.
Jiju John is KONE Middle East & Africa’s HR Director, who joined KONE in 2012 and is responsible for overseeing the entire HR function including Talent acquisition, C&B, Talent Management, Employee Relations, Organization Development and HRIS. Jiju has over 20+ years of HR experience within multinationals, multi-country and diverse organizations. He provides advice and is a trusted advisor to senior managers on full range of HR business issues. He obtained his Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Wollongong in Dubai, UAE.
Head of Legal
Kusti Mörtenhumer; Head of Legal for KONE Middle East and Africa, joined KONE in 2014, bringing with him a wealth of expertise. Prior to joining KONE, Kusti filled several legal posts in Pöyry; the global consulting and engineering firm. His last was General Counsel for the Energy Division, where he was also responsible for the group’s legal affairs in Asia Pacific and North America.
Mörtenhumer was assigned the Head of Legal for KONE Middle East and Africa in 2019. Preceding that role, he was responsible for the legal support for KONE units in Central and North Europe.
Kusti holds a Master’s degree in Laws from the University of Turku, Finland, and a Master’s degree in Economic Sciences from Åbo Akademi University, Finland. In his free time, Kusti enjoys a variety of sports, woodwork, the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.
Director of New Equipment Business
Mohamed Samaha joined KONE in 2004. Before leading the New Equipment Business for KONE Middle East and Africa, he moved between different roles in the areas of sales, business development, export distribution, general management and acquisition.
Samaha is now primarily responsible for developing and implementing the New Equipment Business strategies in the region to achieve short- and long-term business goals.
Morice joined KONE in 2008 and is most recently, the Modernization Director (VB) for KMEA. He has a master’s degree in Business administration from the American University in Dubai (AUD). Morice is responsible for developing and implementing strategies and programs that are align with the long term and short term modernization business objectives in KMEA.
RONY ABOU DIWAN
Rony Abou Diwan is the Operations Director for KONE Middle East & Africa, responsible for the quality, safety and operations aspect of the business. Rony joined KONE in 2013 as a regional quality manager. Throughout the years, he developed and progressed by gaining experience in the exports and distribution business as a regional director in 2014, then becoming KONE East Africa’s Managing Director in 2017. Prior to joining KONE, Rony acquired experience working as an installation project manager, as well as head of R&D.
With 21 years professional experience in large multinational Public Companies, Ruban Bilen handled progressive commercial, operational, and financial leading roles. Ruban’s seasoned expertise has allowed him to reinforce business development strategy, while overcoming challenges and finding solutions to maximize customer satisfaction & value, in turn driving company performance.
As the Regional CFO, KONE Middle East & Africa for the last 5 years, Ruban is responsible for Strategic Finance Leadership for 9 KONE direct operations as well as 60 markets served via Distributor partners across the Middle East, Africa & CIS, the largest geographical territory within KONE. He helped drive achievement of profitability targets for each year. Leveraging his outstanding skills, Ruban has helped to upskill Regional and country Finance teams to ensure continued success in the coming years.
Ruban also served as the CFO, KONE Canada between 2013 and 2016, where he was responsible for all Financial aspects of the operations across 3 Canadian regions representing more than $300 Million in annual Revenues. Prior to joining KONE, he held various prestigious managerial jobs in top-tier companies, including AECOM Technology Corp, Earth Tech Inc and General Electric.
Ruban graduated from McMaster University, where he acquired Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree in 1999. The esteemed business leader has been a Certified Management Accountant from CPA Canada since 2012. Dedicated to promoting his business capabilities, he received renown certifications from GE Financial Management Program, GE Crotonville Leadership development centre, GE Black Belt Six Sigma Certification, Tyco Black Belt Six Sigma Certification and KONE Insead and IMD programs.
